Our Program

Kidz Blast is held every Sunday morning and is comprised of the following elements:

Opening/Announcements

The children focus on the goodness of the Lord by going to Him in prayer. Upcoming events and current birthdays are also announced during this time.

Big Idea/Power Verse

The Big Idea is a simple statement that sums up the entire lesson for the evening. Sometimes it rhymes, sometimes it goes to a rhythm, and other times its just plain fun! Each time the children hear "Hey, what's the big idea?" they stand up and enthusiastically shout the Big Idea.

The Power Verse is a selected scripture for the children to memorize for that lesson. If they can successfully recall it the following week, they will be given Blast Dollars as a reward for committing it to memory. (See Blast Mart section below.)

Puppets in action

Puppet Skit

Every other Sunday, the Kidz Blast program includes a puppet skit featuring a cast of lovable characters such as the Famous Amos, Ready Freddy, and the crazy Professor Dr. Watz. Each skit reinforces the current Big Idea or Power Verse in a fun and unforgettable way.

Offering Time

Children are encouraged to give to the work of the Lord during this time. They can give real money or Blast Dollars earned for attendance and participation. All monies collected go towards assisting an orphanage in Jamaica.

Praise and Worship

During praise and worship, both energetic and slower songs are sung by the children and the staff. The songs give glory to the Lord for what He has done. This time teaches the children that praise is a vital part of having a relationship with Christ.

Game Time

One or more games are usually played each Sunday, which coincide with the lesson for the week. There is great music, lots of exercise, and sometimes a serious use of brain power used during this fun time!

Lesson being taught

Main Lesson

Because children tend to learn best by combining speaking with visual illustrations, a Powerpoint presentation is utilized with each teaching. Each instructor gives a fun, yet powerful presentation of a truth from the Bible. Alter time and prayer are also a vital part of each week's lesson.

Rap it Up/Review Questions

To bring the service to a close, one of the staff will gather the kids around in a circle and ask questions regarding the events of the night. The staff member stresses the importance of putting what they have learned into practice in the coming week.

Blast Mart

Blast Mart

Blast Mart is a reward store that encourages children to participate as well as bring friends with them when they attend. Kids earn Blast Dollars for attending, inviting and bringing guests, participating in the activities, bringing their Bibles, and memorizing scripture. Items cost between $.50 and $5.00, making it easy for children to make purchases.

Snack Time

After visiting the Blast Mart, each child receives a snack and a drink. During this time they also have the opportunity to have fun dancing on Dance Praise or playing the guitar on Guitar Praise.
